The disappearance and murder of Laci Peterson in 2002 shocked the nation. Now, two decades later, Netflix is revisiting this tragic case with fresh insights and new evidence. Campfire Studios entrusted Nifty with the task of creating a cohesive documentary package that conveys the story’s depth while adapting to its shifting narrative.

To achieve this, we designed 100+ motion elements, 50+ photo elements, and 3 custom toolkits, all reflecting the early 2000s era with analog and VHS-inspired aesthetics. As the story unfolds, our graphics evolve too—mirroring the robust, ever-changing timeline of events. This included creating animated timelines that expand and shift with new information, as well as custom maps crucial for tracing the story’s geographic twists.

Ultimately, our graphics are more than just visual aids; they’re integral to the storytelling, helping viewers feel as though they are stepping inside the house, hearing the whispers of what happened, and experiencing the emotional journey alongside the characters—particularly Laci, whose story remains at the heart of it all.
